ROHINGYA REFUGEE ZIAUR RAHMAN ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING OF ROHINGYA

Mary Scully Reports (Ziaur speaking at the screening of ‘Bodies for Sale’ in November, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur) This article is the story of Rohingya refugee Ziaur Rahman who many FB friends know from his posts on my wall about the trafficking & plight of Rohingya refugees. About a month ago, we asked if anyone could contribute toward a computer for him since he had to write off a beaten up mobile. A friend who does not wish to be identified has contributed money for a computer & a new mobile. Thank you all for keeping Ziaur in mind. Mostly thank you to the generosity of our anonymous  friend for making Ziaur’s political & educational work much easier. He is part of building a solidarity movement to demand Myanmar stop the genocide & grant full citizenship, human, democratic rights to Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. http://www.born-in-malaysia.com/i-was-trafficked-7-times/

Many thousands of Muslim homes have been torched along with dozens of mosques, madrasahs have been destroyed, properties looted, and the military went to the main mosque of the area where the imam stands to lead the prayers and started kicking everything. The military also got hold of the holy Quran and kicked it. Meanwhile those who are arrested by security forces have been killed, and schools are being closed and destroyed. Ultimately, the Myanmar government are blocking aid to displaced Rohingya and are also banning journalists. Additionally, the Myanmar Army also armed the local Rakhine people in S

Born in Malaysia    by  Kenny Loh     All of his possessions in the room he shares with a Bangladeshi Ziaur Rahman. A young Rohingya living in Kuala Lumpur. It’s not easy being a Rohingya. Being stateless means you have absolutely no bargaining power. Being stateless means governments, practicing policies of non-intervention, turn a blind eye to your plight. Then, there are those who say the Rohingyas are getting their comeuppance for asking for independence back in the late 1940s. Sitting across me this afternoon is a young Rohingya man. Ziaur Rahman, 24, has been a refugee all his life. He was not even born in 1946, when Muslim leaders from Rakhine State met with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan but he paid the ultimate price with his freedom or rather, the lack of it. Ziaur left Myanmmar when he was only a few months old. Unbearable conditions in Myanmar compelled his parents to flee to Bangladesh and this was the start of a very difficult life. Now,
